DFW COMMUNICATORS’ JOB BANK
WHAT:
The official Web site for Metroplex communication professionals is located at www.dfwcommunicators.com. This Web site is a powerful tool to effectively link employers with job seekers by providing a single source of news, jobs, events and freelance listings for those interested in seeking a career in communications or networking with colleagues in the field.
Job Bank listings include full-time, part-time and internship positions in public relations, media affairs, advertising/sales, event planning, graphic design, marketing, corporate and employee communications.
WHO:
The Web site is a collaborative project of several communications-related organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, one of which is the Greater Fort Worth Chapter of PRSA. Other participating groups include the Press Club of Dallas and the Dallas chapters of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), American Women in Communications, Inc. (AWC), and Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
The Greater Fort Worth Chapter of PRSA nominates a Job Bank Committee Chair each year to serve as the liaison between employers, job seekers and the DFW Communicators’ Job Bank Administrator.
WHERE:
Most of the positions listed on the Web site are located in the North Texas Region. An employer from any city or state across the nation is welcome to submit Job postings.
WHEN:
The DFW Communicators' Job Bank is updated twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday evenings.
WHY:
As an employer, the Job Bank attracts seasoned professionals, entry-level applicants and student interns who are passionate about the communications’ industry. Utilizing this target-based advertising venue promises to increase responses from qualified applicants and more effectively match job seekers with employers in the selection process.
Another benefit of the online Job Bank is the significant advertising savings. The cost to run a classified ad in a local newspaper would cost considerably more, run less often, and attract less qualified applicants.
COST:
The cost to post one job opening for employers who are members of participating communications organizations (refer to list on submission form) is $50. The cost for non-members is $75. Both members and non-members receive a 50% discount if they hold a non-profit status.
To purchase a four-line ad in the classified section of the newspaper running for seven days would cost approximately $500; whereas, the same listing posted on the DFW Communicator’s Job Bank with not only a headline and quick summary, but a full description of the position running consecutively for three weeks, costs no more than $75.
There is no required registration process or fee to view or apply for openings.
HOW:
The Greater Chapter of Fort Worth PRSA invites you to take advantage of the benefits of the Job Bank by visiting www.dfwcommunicators.com.
To submit a job for posting, go to the www.dfwcommunicators.com and click on Submit a Job. The most efficient payment method is through American Express, MasterCard or Visa, but checks are accepted. You will be asked to complete all the information on the “secure” submission form.
Your submission will be posted upon credit card approval and will remain in the Job Bank for three weeks or until the job is filled. Please notify the administrator via e-mail at lkennedy79@aol.com to remove the listing. Applicant information (i.e., cover letter, resume, etc.) is sent directly to the primary contact listed by the employer.
