Communicator of the Year

2017 Communicator of the Year

Nominations are due by 11:59 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017, and will be accepted from Greater Fort Worth PRSA chapter members OR nonmember professionals who live and/or work in the greater Fort Worth region.

Communication. Collaboration. Engagement.

These words are often used to describe an individual who has served the Greater Fort Worth community when the introduction or resolution of a public issue or event requires exceptional communications and management skills.

The Greater Fort Worth chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is pleased to honor a community member who has demonstrated leadership and communications ability while involved with an issue or event of significance to the area served by the chapter.

Award winners may be elected officials, volunteers, clergy or business leaders.

The Communicator of the Year will be selected by the Greater Fort Worth PRSA Board of Directors based on the following criteria:

  • How does the public issue, event or activity support the public’s interest and/or benefit our community?
    scored 1-20, maximum 20 points
  • How does the nominee’s action here exemplify innovative thinking, new approaches, etc.?
    scored 1-20, maximum 20 points
  • How are the overall impacts of this campaign/effort directly related to the nominee’s communications efforts?
    scored 1-20, maximum 20 points

Please upload a one-page, 8.5″x11″ summary that addresses the following:

  • Explain the public issue, event or activity that required leadership, collaboration and communications skills.
  • Explain how the nominee’s involvement and actions were innovative and represented a new thinking and/or approach.
  • Describe the response of the targeted publics/markets/audiences.
  • Describe the outcome of the event or activity.
  • Describe how the outcome supported the public interest and/or was of benefit to the community.
